One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Environmental Services Technician, you'll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized.
This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards.Every day, you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, or dusting.
You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility.
This role requires you to learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects.
You may also refill soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and other supplies, as well as deliver clean linens.To be successful in this role, you are thorough and committed to safety.

Clean and sanitize patient rooms, common areas, and other areas.
Follow established cleaning and disinfection protocols and procedures Collect and dispose of waste, biohazardous waste and linens Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms and common areas Respond to requests for cleaning services from health-care staff You may operate heavy-duty equipment and use special cleaning equipment.
Job Requirements Required Housekeeping experience required, utilizing basic housekeeping practices and procedures, proper handling/disposal of infectious waste, and proper safety skills in handling housekeeping chemicals Acute healthcare work experience involving the use of heavy equipment such as buffer extractors, wide area vacuums, and wet vacuums
Candidates must have previous housekeeping experience and knowledge of proper handling of infectious waste and chemicals. Experience in an acute healthcare setting using heavy-duty cleaning equipment is also required.
