Perform diagnostic general and vascular ultrasound examinations while ensuring high-quality imaging and accurate analysis for physicians. Provide technical assistance during surgical procedures and maintain equipment safety and quality control standards.
Requires an Associate's degree and graduation from a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Must hold BLS certification and ARDMS registration.
Interpersonal skills necessary to explain test and procedures to patients and parents, allay apprehensions, and to interact effectively with physicians, patients, parents, and departmental personnel. Basic computer skills to operate a computer efficiently and effectively. Analytical ability necessary to resolve technical problems. Ability to schedule ultrasound examinations throughout assigned work period to ensure day to day operations. Ability to maintain accurate facility reports and records. Ability to prioritize, work independently and manage simultaneous assignments. Ability to be flexible in schedule and adaptable to constant change. An understanding of Children’s Wisconsin health care delivery system and the impact of other health care delivery system on the patient and family. Licenses and Certifications BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council required + one of the following: ARDMS-American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Ultrasound Technologist - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Patient Care Responsibility Provides care appropriate to patient population and as described in applicable policies and procedures.
