The Certified Surgical Assistant works with the primary surgeon to assess, plan, and implement patient care during surgical procedures. They also assist with patient transport, equipment preparation, wound closure, and surgical site marking.

As a Certified Surgical Assistant, you will work with the primary Surgeon to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care delivered to patients of all ages undergoing surgery.
You will assist with patient transport, positioning and help anesthesia personnel during induction and post-procedure transport to PACU or ICU.
You will ensure the proper equipment selection and placement of x-rays, drainage tubes and surgical devices needed for surgery. You will also help with closing wound layers, marking surgical sites and participating in follow-up rounds.
