Independently perform diagnostic cardiac echocardiology procedures using proper techniques and protocols. Coordinate patient flow and activities within the Cardiopulmonary Department while maintaining equipment in good working condition.

General Summary/Responsibilities

Independently performs diagnostic cardiac echocardiology procedures utilizing proper techniques and protocols. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with registry in the operation of equipment. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the Cardiopulmonary Department. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform other cardiology procedures in other modalities based on departmental needs. May have on call responsibilities.

  • Proficient in Cardiology Information Systems

Requirements

Requires an associate degree in Ultrasound/Sonography and registration as a Cardiac Sonographer by CCI or ARDMS. CPR certification is mandatory, and proficiency in EMR and cardiology information systems is required.
