PRN About Us - ICU Step-Down Unit (TCU) The Transitional Care Unit is a 20-bed department consisting of multidisciplinary team of nurses, nurse technicians, and ancillary staff. TCU serves Freeman and our community through caring for patients that are transitioning from ICU to Med-Surge level of care. We serve a vast range of patient populations, from cardiac complications, respiratory distress, diabetes management, and many more.
