The Medical Assistant is responsible for obtaining patient vitals, performing venipuncture, and managing IV access. They also maintain treatment rooms, assist nursing staff, and support patient triage and scheduling.
Candidates must be high school graduates or equivalent. A certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited school is required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Obtain vital signs, height and weight for clinic patients and places patient in treatment room. Performs venipuncture, accesses mediports, and starts IVs as ordered. Responsible for properly labeling all blood samples and submitting to lab. Cleans and maintains treatment rooms with the appropriate level of supplies and maintains a clean and safe work area. Performs treatment room functions such as rounding on patients, assisting the nurses, and documenting appropriately. Assists in triage area with patient scheduling and daily prep. Performs other duties as assigned.
