The LPN/RN is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing patient care while maintaining professional nursing standards. They function as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide quality, culturally sensitive care and document patient responses to treatments.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED and have graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program. A current LPN license and Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification are required.
Under the leadership of the departmental Nursing Director and the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing culturally sensitive care that is appropriate for the patient’s developmental age. The Licensed Practical Nurse effectively interacts with patients, family members, and other health team members, follows the nursing plan of care as it has been formulated, and maintains the standards of professional nursing.
Requires a high school diploma or a GED and graduation from a Licensed Practical Nurse program from an accredited vocational or community college.
Requires up to one year of work-related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Requires a current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse and a current certification in Basic Life Saving (BLS). (If BLS verification is not current upon hire, it must be obtained within the orientation period.)
• Contributes to the development of the nursing plan of care through planning, data collection, implementation, and evaluation of the patient’s care.
