The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates patients and implements treatment programs for communication or swallowing disorders. They coordinate care with physical and occupational therapy teams while educating patients and their families.
Candidates must hold a Master of Science degree in Speech/Language Pathology and possess a current Texas license. A Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellowship Year and Basic Life Support certification are required.
Knowledge of Speech-Language Pathology principles and procedures. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Good communication and interpersonal skills in view of frequent interaction with patients, staff and visitors. Good problem-solving ability to in order to determine the best methods to address patient problems.
