The primary responsibility is preparing tissue specimens for diagnosis by a Pathologist. This involves working closely with Pathology residents, fellows, and attendings to meet the needs of clinicians and patients.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in applied clinical science with a course in Histology, or equivalent training and experience. Certification or eligibility for certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL) or Histotechnician (HT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists is required.
