• This opportunity is full-time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient schedule working 9:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

• Individuals must be proficient in venipuncture and capillary puncture.
• Individuals must follow laboratory policy on proper identification of patients and handling of obtained specimen.
• Responsibility of phlebotomist encompasses provision of care to patient’s age neonates to geriatrics.
• Individual must be willing to cross train to other job descriptions and float to other departments to meet the needs of the facility.
• Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead.
• Verbalizes stroke alert process.
• Draws blood for stroke panel and delivers specimens to laboratory on stroke alert patients.
• Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 1 hour online training.

Qualifications

• One year experience as a hospital laboratory phlebotomist or graduate of an approved phlebotomy training course.
