The Neurodiagnostic Technologist performs advanced neurodiagnostic studies, including nerve conduction studies and assisting physicians with needle EMG and EEG procedures. The role also involves managing clerical duties associated with these procedures and providing compassionate care to patients ranging from adolescent to geriatric.
Candidates must be graduates of an Electro neurodiagnostic technology program and hold relevant certifications. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nerve conduction studies and BLS certification are required.
Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, math and electronics Specific knowledge of peripheral nervous system, muscles and neuromuscular diseases. Precise identification of waveforms and artifacts, knowledge of conduction velocity, amplitude and latency values. Must be proficient in medical terminology.
