The Patient Care Assistant provides direct and indirect non-professional nursing care under medical supervision. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, collecting lab specimens, assisting with daily living activities, and managing clerical tasks.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma and possess a Medical Assistant degree, West Virginia C.N.A. license, or PCT Certification. Applicants are also required to score 80% or higher on a medical terminology exam.
Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a casual, as needed Patient Care Assistant to work with our team in the 2 North West Neurosurgery Department.
The Patient Care Assistant works in a supporting role to nursing by conducting patient care activities. Applicants provide direct and indirect non-professional nursing care under nursing or medical supervision. Primarily this includes but is not limited to performing duties such as cleaning, taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, charting, escorting patients, assisting with activities of daily living, managing clerical duties and ordering and receiving supplies. To be considered, candidates must provide documentation of an 80% or higher score on the Medical Terminology exam.
