The counselor is responsible for delivering direct substance abuse treatment services, including assessments, intakes, and individual or group counseling. They also manage caseloads, maintain documentation, and coordinate with external referral sources to ensure comprehensive client care.
Candidates should hold relevant certifications or licenses such as CASAC, LMHC, LMSW, or LCSW. Experience working in 822 clinics and community outreach settings is preferred.

Position: Substance Abuse Counselor
The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for the delivery of direct services in a substance abuse treatment setting as well as representing Outreach to outside agencies in a professional manner in order to increase referrals. This role is dually responsible for recruitment and engagement of clients in need of treatment, maintaining communication with outside referral sources and direct services, and assessed for treatment in the community.
Each role at Outreach has identified production and outcome goals. These goals may be stated as a number or as an outcome within an identified time frame. These goals are intended to provide each job holder the knowledge they need about expected performance. Accomplishments against these goals will be a discussion point in the annual evaluation.
Supervised by
1. CASAC, CASAC-T, CRC, LMHC, LMSW, LMFT, LCSW or higher preferred. 2. Experience working in 822 clinics, as well as community outreach preferred 3. Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people 4. Flexibility in scheduling, if needed
This is a full-time non-exempt position.
3 evenings 1 pm to 9 pm
2 days 9 am to 5 pm
This job operates in a professional office environment and outside in the field. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Must be able to travel among assigned sites and locations as needed.
