The counselor is responsible for conducting intake assessments, developing evidence-based treatment plans, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. They must also manage a caseload, provide evening appointments, and collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage & Family Therapy and possess a full professional license in Virginia. A minimum of 3 years of full-time clinical experience is required, along with expertise in specific specialty areas like trauma or couples counseling.

This position is in-person in the Christiansburg, VA office. Freedom Support Services will support getting in front of insurance panels when taking this position.
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude in Telehealth interactions as well as on social media. Complete intake assessments which include documentation such as Mental Status Exams, Biopsychosocial, PHQ-9 or 2, GAD, CSSRS Risk Assessment, etc. Maintain an average of 18hours of availability per week with a goal of billing an average of 15 hours per week. Ability to offer a minimum of 3 evening appointments each week Effectively create and carry out treatment plans using evidence-based practices. Complete progress notes within 24 hours of time of service. Complete timesheet daily reflecting the billable hours worked. Maintain client’s charts and keep complete and correct documentation. Complete discharge summaries as required by insurance. Develop rapport with clients in order to facilitate a healthy professional relationship. Exercise sound clinical and professional judgment.
3+ years of full time experience in a clinical environment Fully Licensed as a Professional Counselor, Social Worker, or Marriage & Family Therapist in the State of Virginia Masters Degree in Counseling, Social Work or Marriage & Family Therapy Previous clinical experience in or in developing in one of these specialty areas: Christian counseling, couples & families, children & adolescents, or trauma. Professional Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, critical thinking, and ability to work collaboratively with other health care professionals. Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills to manage caseload, appointments, and follow up Problem-Solving Abilities: Proven ability to identify challenges and provide effective solutions.
