BluePearl Pet Hospital in Golden Valley, MN is seeking an exceptional, qualified, and passionate Veterinary Technician to join our growing Patient Care team.

You will work alongside board-certified critical care specialists and other skilled veterinary professionals to provide remarkable care for our patients and their families.

This is a full-time day shift opportunity.

2 Holidays per year (may include swing shift and/or overnight) Every other full weekend required.

Qualifications

Must have two years of veterinary technician experience or be a LVT. We are looking for an experienced technician with a strong work ethic who is dedicated to their chosen profession and is passionate about providing the highest quality of care for their patients. You will be able to advance and fully utilize your technical skills. Our hospital also provides an encouraging environment that will support your continued professional growth in Emergency and Specialty Medicine. As an ICU Veterinary Technician, you will: Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure. Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment. Assist the doctor with creating patient treatment plans and thoroughly explaining to owners. Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients. Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues. Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR. Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers. Requirements
