The VAD Coordinator manages and coordinates care for cardiac patients with ventricular assist devices throughout the treatment continuum. They also provide essential education to patients and families while monitoring clinical status and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Candidates must hold a valid Indiana Registered Nurse license and obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire. A minimum of two years of bedside nursing experience is required, with a preference for cardiac nursing experience.

How you’ll make an impact in this role Job Responsibilities of a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Program VAD Coordinator: Patient Care Coordination: Manages and coordinates care for cardiac patients with ventricular assist devices (VADs) across the continuum—from post-implant education through discharge and long-term follow-up. Education & Training: Provides comprehensive education and support to VAD patients, families, and caregivers, ensuring they understand device management, lifestyle modifications, and emergency procedures. Clinical Monitoring & Management: Monitors patients for device function, complications, and overall clinical status, collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: Ensures adherence to institutional protocols, manufacturer guidelines, and regulatory standards while maintaining accurate and timely documentation in patient records and databases.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.
What additional preferences we're seeking Bachelors in Nursing Two years of bedside nursing experience required. Cardiac nursing experience strongly preferred.
