The salary provided is pay for Float Clinician I upon completion of our robust 4-6 month training and a positive 6-month review, Float Clinician I employees are promoted to Float Clinician II. What is a Float (Travel) Clinician? A clinician that travels to other health centers. Float Clinicians receive an additional $3-12 per hour when traveling from a designated ‘home’ health center to support patient care at local, regional, and affiliate health centers. Float Clinicians are provided with:

Review and interpret the medical and social history of both male and female reproductive health patients;

Perform appropriate medical screening procedures/exams for both male and female patients;
Interpret laboratory data, order additional laboratory investigations when indicated and ensure appropriate follow-up;
Provide a full range of contraceptive methods, including self-administered options and injections.
Perform medical assessment and management of basic STI and genito-urinary conditions for both male and female patients;
Provide medication abortion, as indicated.
Prescribe and educate on emergency contraception.
Diagnose and treat uncomplicated STIs and genitourinary conditions.
Perform wart treatment and basic dermatological procedures.
Provide gender-affirming hormone therapy and related care.
Offer premenopausal and menopausal health services.
Act as a medical consultant to clinic staff;
Manage emergency situations in the health center;
Participate in staff meetings relating to center management and provides staff training in current medical procedures which are relevant to reproductive health;
Contribute to achieving health center productivity goals.
Demonstrate PPMM customer service standards;
Assist in other areas of center support work as required.
Patient-Centered Exams & Management
Conduct and interpret medical histories for sexual and reproductive health visits.
Perform pelvic and breast exams, Pap smears, and other screening procedures.
Order and interprets laboratory tests; ensure timely follow-up.
Manage urgent health situations that arise during clinic operations.
Team Engagement
Act as a clinical resource for medical assistants and support staff.
Attend staff meetings and contribute to clinic productivity and quality benchmarks.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.
What We’re Looking For
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), Women’s Health NP (WHNP), or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) program.
Current, unrestricted license to practice in the state of California.
Board Certification
CPR/BLS certification (current or within 30 days of hire).
Strong customer service mindset and ability to thrive in a team-based environment.
