About the role

The Registered Nurse is responsible for diagnosing patient health problems and providing emergent, supportive, and restorative care. They must develop and implement individualized care plans while monitoring for life-threatening situations.

  • Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Part Time Night Shift (24 Hours) – Putnam, CT Day Kimball Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team in Putnam, CT. This position includes a one-time sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 (not part of base pay). Overview The ICU Registered Nurse provides specialized care to critically ill and high-acuity patients requiring continuous monitoring, rapid clinical assessment, and immediate intervention. This role supports stabilization, recovery, and restorative care using the nursing process in a fast-paced intensive care environment. Key Responsibilities Clinical Care Delivery
  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill ICU patients
  • Assess physical, psychological, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs
  • Deliver emergent, supportive, and restorative interventions
  • Monitoring & Clinical Decision Support
  • Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
  • Identify life-threatening and unsafe situations and intervene appropriately
  • Evaluate and adjust care plans based on patient status
  • Technical & Procedural Skills
  • Operate and maintain patient care equipment used in critical care settings
  • Demonstrate accurate technical nursing skills and ICU procedural knowledge
  • Maintain complete and accurate clinical documentation
  • Care Planning & Collaboration
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Connecticut required
  • AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification required within 3 months of hire
  • NVCIT certification required within 3 months of hire
