The RN provides comprehensive care to new mothers and newborns, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications. They also educate families on recovery and infant care while collaborating with the healthcare team to address postpartum complications.
Candidates must hold a current unrestricted North Carolina RN license or multi-state privilege and have graduated from an accredited nursing school. One year of experience in a Women and Children’s service line is preferred, along with various certifications like BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
The 2A (Mother baby) RN is responsible for providing comprehensive care to new mothers and their babies, including monitoring maternal and newborn vital signs, administering medication and providing education on breastfeeding, infant care and maternal recovery. They also play a crucial role in identifying and addressing any complications that may arise during the postpartum period, while working closely with obstetricians and other members of the healthcare team to ensure that new mothers and their babies receive the best possible care.
The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this position: Current unrestricted North Carolina RN license or RN multi-state licensure privilege through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
