Respiratory Therapist Assistant PRN Variable

• Job Summary Performs duties necessary to treat patients in accordance with the physicians’ orders and department policy.
• Performs all procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Therapist.
• Job duties will be assigned based on student's clinical progression and competency validation.

• Performs respiratory therapy procedures in accordance with the physician’s order, departmental policy, and the Respiratory Care Guidelines (RT Consult).
• May not take verbal orders or modify orders.
• Documents and charges for respiratory care procedures and provides patient and family education.
• Communicates well with supervisors, therapists and technicians.
• Provides a complete and accurate report May perform blood gasses from all sites.
• Analyzes and reports results.
• Adheres to infection control and quality initiatives.
• Performs appropriate cleaning/disinfection of equipment between patients as indicated by equipment type and isolation status.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
• Minimum Requirements Education - Currently enrolled in an approved school for respiratory care; OR new/recent graduates of a school of respiratory care who are awaiting credentialing.
• Experience - No experience required.
• In Lieu Of NA Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses BLS
