The Occupational Therapist will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to improve daily function and independence. They will also collaborate with healthcare teams, supervise COTAs, and provide education to patients and families.
Candidates must hold a Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy and possess or be eligible for a Kansas OT license. Strong clinical reasoning, documentation, and interpersonal skills are required to succeed in this rural healthcare environment.

Provide evaluations to determine patient needs, goals, and functional capabilities. Develop individualized treatment plans focused on improving independence, safety, and performance in daily activities. Implement therapeutic interventions addressing ADLs, IADLs, strength, coordination, cognition, and functional mobility. Fabricate, fit, or recommend adaptive equipment and provide patient/caregiver training on its use. Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in a timely and accurate manner. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. Supervise and mentor COTAs and guide their contributions to patient treatment plans. Monitor patient responses and adjust interventions to achieve optimal functional outcomes. Educate patients and families on strategies, home programs, and safety practices to support ongoing progress. Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives. Engage in professional development and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program (or anticipated graduation). Current Kansas OT license or eligibility upon graduation. Strong clinical reasoning and evaluation skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to patient-centered care and functional outcomes. Experience in rural healthcare or interest in serving rural communities. Comfort supervising and collaborating with COTAs. Strong documentation and time-management skills.
