The Mammography Technologist performs screening and diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort. They also assist radiologists with specialized procedures and maintain equipment compliance with regulatory standards.
Candidates must have 1-3 years of radiologic imaging experience and hold an ARRT Radiography certification. A Mammography certification (ARRT or ARDMS) is required or must be obtained within six months of hire.

The Mammography Technologist I is responsible for performing screening and diagnostic mammography procedures to assist in the detection and diagnosis of breast diseases. This role requires a high level of technical proficiency, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to patient-centered care. The Mammography Technologist I works collaboratively with Radiologists and other healthcare professionals, ensuring accurate imaging and patient comfort while maintaining compliance with state, federal, and regulatory standards, including FDA/MQSA and ACR requirements.
1-3 years of experience in radiologic imaging required 2-4 years experience as a mammographer in an acute care hospital setting preferred
Proficiency in mammographic positioning, imaging techniques, and radiation safety standards. Strong understanding of FDA/MQSA, ACR, and state regulatory compliance requirements for mammography. Ability to effectively communicate and provide patient education with empathy and professionalism. Knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques for mammography-guided procedures. Attention to detail in documenting patient information, reports, and image storage requirements. Proficiency in PACS, electronic medical records (EMR), and mammography equipment operation. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills in technical troubleshooting and patient care situations. Licenses and Certifications Licensed Radiologic Technologist as applicable by state required ARRT Radiography Certification required and (M) ARDMS or ARRT - Mammography certification or eligibility to obtain within six (6) months of hire required BCLS - Basic Life Support required
