The technician assists an oncology pharmacist in the preparation, handling, and storage of oral and injectable medications, including chemotherapy agents. They are responsible for maintaining medication systems, restocking supplies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and previous hospital experience with proficiency in sterile compounding. A Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) and registration with the State of Connecticut are required.

Under Direct Supervision Of An Oncology Pharmacist Assists In The Preparation Of Oral And Injectable Medication Doses; And In The Overall Distribution, Preparation, Handling And Storage Of Pharmaceuticals.
EDUCATION High School Diploma, College Degree Preferred EXPERIENCE Previous Hospital Experience With Proficiency In Sterile Compounding As A Pharmacy Technician. Two Years Experience In Preparation Of Chemotherapeutic Agents. LICENSURE Registration With The State Of Connecticut Department Of Consumer Protection Required By Completion Of Probationary Period And Maintained As Well As Maintain Continuous Certification As A Pharmacy Technician (Cpht) SPECIAL SKILLS Good Communication Skills, Position Typically Covers Every Other Weekend.
