The Physical Therapist Assistant delivers high-quality care under the direction of a Physical Therapist by following established treatment plans and evidence-based strategies. They are responsible for documenting patient progress, educating patients on exercises, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal clinical outcomes.
Candidates must have graduated from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program and hold a current state license. A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, and experience in outpatient orthopedics is preferred.
Description JOB SUMMARY The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) delivers care under the direction of a Physical Therapist, following established treatment plans using evidence-based strategies. The PTA collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care, optimal outcomes, and patient satisfaction.
Deliver high-quality physical therapy care to optimize clinical outcomes Prioritize patient care and manage assigned caseload efficiently Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist Administer and advance treatment programs according to goals defined by the Physical Therapist and patient tolerance, consistent with physician orders Educate patients on exercises, treatment protocols, and injury prevention Document patient condition, treatments, and progress accurately and timely Provide ongoing updates to the supervising Physical Therapist regarding patient progress and status Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans as needed Administer various physical therapy modalities and interventions as directed by the Physical Therapist CHARACTERISTICS Strong multitasking and organizational skills Team-oriented and collaborative Maintains tact and professionalism with diverse patient injuries Communicates compassionately and effectively with patients Demonstrates excellent judgment and problem-solving abilities
Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program Current state license as a Registered Physical Therapist Assistant Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Experience in outpatient orthopedics preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of injury treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift equipment necessary for patient care PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Sitting: Occasionally Standing: Frequently Walking: Frequently Carrying/Lifting: Frequently (up to 50 pounds) Stooping/Kneeling: Frequently Other: N/A
