The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner provides routine and emergency medical care to patients within the Emergency Department. They perform these duties under the supervision of a licensed physician.
Candidates must have completed an accredited training program and hold NCPAA or AANP certification along with Hawaii state licensure. Two to three years of post-graduate emergency department experience and current PALS and ACLS certifications are required.
Site location: Emergency department (Emergency department)
The Emergency Department Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides routine and emergency medical care, under the supervision of a licensed physician.
1. Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner training program and NCPAA or AANP certification
2. Two to three years of post-graduate work experience in an Emergency Department
3. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
4. Hawaii State Board of Medical Examiners licensure
5. Controlled substance prescriptive authority
