About the role

Staff nurses provide for the emotional, medical, and physical needs of consumers, improving their quality of life through observation and documentation. They implement medical recommendations and provide nursing services under the direction of the RN House Manager.

Job description

Starting Pay $29.00 with a Sign-on Bonus

1. Sign on BONUS! There is currently up to a $3000 sign on bonus for Full Time Nurses! (Who couldn't use a little extra money?)

Staff nurse responsibilities include providing for the emotional, medical, and physical needs of Danville’s consumers and improving their quality of life by observing, documenting, reporting, taking action and following-up on their health, safety, and medical needs, and implementing medical recommendations made by the team and the RN House Manager. Staff nurses provide nursing services under the direction of the RN House Manager and are required to stay within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and Experience
  • RN Degree (AD, BSN or MSN) or LPN from an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum of 1 year nursing experience preferred Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background/fingerprint and central registry check
  • Must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and an insurable driving record
  • Nursing license must be valid in the State of AZ with no adverse actions
  • Must have good interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Basic keyboarding and computer skills
  • Must be highly organized Special Skills/Training/Certifications
  • Must have an unencumbered nursing license
  • CPR/First Aid, Prevention & Support, Article 9 & other training as required by Danville and the State of Arizona Division for Developmental Disabilities.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

1.

Physical Requirements – Requires repetitive manual and finger dexterity and eye- hand coordination; requires the ability to use all office equipment; and the ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds using appropriate body mechanics.

Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, sit, and walk for periods of time.

Must be able to utilize proper body mechanics while assisting with the transfer of individuals weighing up to 250 pounds utilizing manual or mechanical lifting devices.

Visual, hearing, and communication requirements – Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with all staff, other professionals, and consumers.

Must be able to give and receive verbal and written instructions in English.

Work location – Home-like and office settings with varying degrees of background noise.

The possibility of exposure to blood borne pathogens exists if universal precautions are not followed.

May require working under stressful conditions at times and handling emergencies.

There will be pressure at times to meet scheduled appointments and deadlines and manage crisis situations.

This position will interact with consumers who are intellectually and developmentally delayed and may be frail or confused and have the potential for verbal or physical aggression.

Requirements

Candidates must have an RN or LPN degree from an accredited school and a valid nursing license in Arizona. Additional requirements include passing a background check, being at least 21 years old, and having good communication skills.
