Requirements summary
Candidates must have an Associate degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program and meet CLIA guidelines for high-complexity testing. Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification is preferred, or the candidate must be eligible to sit for the exam within six months of hire.

The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for laboratory specimen processing, test performance and test result reporting in the clinical departments of the laboratory. The position is responsible for performing procedures relative to quality control, quality assurance and preventive maintenance according to laboratory protocols. Strives to achieve highest level of customer satisfaction through activities and interaction with customers.

Adheres to laboratory quality control policies, documents all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
Follows protocols for running controls and accepting and verifying results.

Follows the Laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the Laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.

What you will bring to the role
Successful completion of a two-year post-high school program in Medical Laboratory Technology, resulting in an Associate degree.
Successful completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program.
Meets federal guidelines under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) for performing high-complexity testing.
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification is preferred, or proof of eligibility to sit for the certification examination within six (6) months of hire.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals from multiple disciplines.
Ability to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
