Position Overview The Ultrasound Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the direction of a Radiologist. This role requires independent judgment, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely imaging services.

Position Details

Employment Type: PRN (as needed) Schedule: Daytime hours with evening call coverage as needed Travel: None required Supervisory Responsibilities: None Compensation: Commensurate with experience Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations accurately and efficiently for all patient populations Ensure proper patient positioning and selection of appropriate transducers for each procedure Capture and submit high-quality diagnostic images to the Radiologist for interpretation Maintain ultrasound equipment and exam rooms in optimal working condition Utilize electronic systems, including Meditech, to verify orders and document procedures Manage imaging workflow through PACS, including image storage and CD creation Exercise independent clinical judgment, initiative, and attention to detail Cross-train and maintain competency in sonography practices as needed Assist with additional departmental tasks during periods of low patient volume

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program meeting ARRT or equivalent standards Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of ultrasound experience preferred; new graduates may be considered Certifications: Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) – preferred Current CPR certification – required Core Competencies Strong technical and imaging skills Attention to detail and commitment to diagnostic accuracy Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Effective communication and patient care skills Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety standards Employment Requirements Compliance with all hospital policies, including HIPAA, safety standards, and professional conduct Willingness to meet vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered) Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening (post-offer)

Requirements

Candidates must have completed an accredited Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and hold current CPR certification. Registration with the ARDMS is preferred, and at least one year of ultrasound experience is desired.
