Position Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Medical/Surgical unit provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider. This role is essential in supporting patient recovery, monitoring clinical conditions, and delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

Position Details

Employment Type: PRN (as needed) Department: Medical/Surgical Unit Schedule: Flexible; shifts and days vary Travel: None required Supervisory Responsibilities: None Compensation: Commensurate with experience New Graduates: Encouraged to apply Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and treatments within scope of practice Monitor patient conditions and promptly report changes to the care team Assist with procedures and support patient care activities Educate patients and families regarding care plans and recovery Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards Collaborate with Registered Nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive care environment

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure: Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in North Carolina Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required Core Competencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care Ability to work effectively in a team environment Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Willingness to learn and grow in a clinical setting Employment Requirements Compliance with all hospital policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered) Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening (post-offer)
