The Medical Assistant/Patient Care Coordinator performs non-invasive technical support services under supervision, greets visitors, provides clerical support, and schedules patient appointments. They also obtain necessary billing and insurance information and maintain patient records.
A high school education or GED is required, with a preference for Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant credentials. Basic Life Support certification is required, along with preferred certifications in audiometry, vision training, and phlebotomy.
Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife. Greets and directs visitors and provides clerical support including, but not limited to data entry, obtaining patient's signature for needed documents and/or consents forms, filing and answering phones. Schedules patient appointments. Obtains all necessary billing, insurance and other demographic information.
