The Admissions Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for individuals seeking treatment, guiding them through the intake and eligibility process. They are responsible for verifying insurance, conducting comprehensive assessments, and coordinating with treatment teams to develop individualized care plans.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or associate degree and hold a valid California drug and alcohol counselor certification (e.g., CADC, RADT). Experience in substance use disorder admissions and familiarity with Medi-Cal guidelines are highly preferred.
Perform thorough assessments of prospective clients to determine their eligibility for our program. This includes gathering information about demographics, substance use history, mental health concerns, and related background information.
Verify the insurance coverage of potential clients, particularly those covered by Medi-Cal. Familiarity with Medi-Cal guidelines and eligibility criteria is crucial to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement processes.
Conduct comprehensive intake with prospective clients to gather crucial information regarding their substance use and co-occurring disorders and complete all required intake documentation. These intakes should be conducted in a supportive and empathetic manner, ensuring that clients feel heard and understood.
Collaborate with the treatment team to support individualized treatment plans for clients, based on the information obtained during the intake process. This involves considering the unique needs and goals of each client, as well as their preferences for treatment modalities, and State and County requirements.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, such as referring agencies, insurance providers, and other treatment centers, to ensure a smooth and coordinated transition into the program.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans. This includes adhering to legal and ethical guidelines for confidentiality and record-keeping.
Stay up-to-date with regulatory guidelines, licensing requirements, and best practices related to substance use disorder treatment. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
and Skills High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field preferred. Valid C-Number with Los Angeles County to access SAGE/PCNX EHR preferred. Hold valid certification as a drug and alcohol counselor (e.g., CADC, CAADC) or registration (e.g. RADT) in the state of California, with expertise in substance use disorders and co-occurring treatment. Bilingual in Spanish or Khmer preferred. Experience working in admissions and intake within a substance use disorder treatment program. Knowledge of Medi-Cal guidelines and procedures for admissions and intake. Familiarity with co-occurring disorders and trauma-informed care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with coworkers and external stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to deadlines. Compassion, empathy, and sensitivity to the unique needs of individuals seeking treatment for substance use and co-occurring disorders.
