About the role

The LPN will assist physicians with examinations and treatments while administering medications and performing IV therapy. Responsibilities also include drawing blood, assessing patient conditions, and maintaining accurate medical records.

UPMC Chautauqua is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join their team in our Outpatient Podiatry & Wound Healing Clinic. This position offers a Monday - Friday work schedule, from 8am - 4:30pm. Travel is required every Monday to either our Dunkirk or Silver Creek offices, with Mileage Reimbursement for travel. Tuesday - Friday location is in our Jamestown Office at 207 Foote Ave.

Responsibilities

Draw blood. Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health). Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip. Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments. Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight. Comply with all policies and procedures. Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse. Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record. Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.

Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. One year of clinical experience preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Act 34

Candidates must be a graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing and hold a valid LPN license. CPR/BLS certification and Act 34 clearance are required, with one year of clinical experience preferred.
