The First Assist OR Clinical Nurse performs an expanded perioperative role by assisting surgeons during procedures and providing direct patient care. They are responsible for developing individual care plans, monitoring patient responses, and collaborating with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe outcomes.
Candidates must hold a Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree and have 2-5 years of relevant experience. A valid RN license is required, with preference given to those holding CNOR or Certified First Assistant certifications.

Role Purpose Performs an expanded perioperative role as a first assistant to surgeons during surgical procedures in the operating room. RNFA works alongside the surgeon to provide direct patient care. Works as a professional colleague with the perioperative team and collaborates with the patient-designated support person, and other health care providers when making decisions to plan care.
