The Speech Language Pathologist will evaluate patients to determine therapy needs and teach alternative communication methods or voice improvement techniques. They are also responsible for educating healthcare team members and caregivers while maintaining accurate clinical documentation of patient progress.
Candidates must be graduates of an approved Occupational Therapy program and hold current licensure in the state. A minimum of two years of experience in adult occupational therapy is required, with home health experience preferred.
As a Home Health Speech Language Pathologist, You will: Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty, determining the need for continued therapy services Teach patients how to make sounds and improve their voices Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capability Educate and guide healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers in specific aspects of therapeutic exercises to support continued progress outside of direct therapy sessions Document appropriate progress and clinical notes noting patient's response to therapy and submit visit documentation per Agency policy
Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Education program approved by CAPTE Current Occupational Therapist licensure in State and American Heart Association CPR certification required; CPR certification may be offered and completed upon hire Two (2) years of experience in adult occupational therapy, home health experience preferred Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills; physical therapy skills per competency checklist About our Line of Business Adoration Home Health and Hospice, an affiliate of BrightSpring Health Services, provides quality and compassionate services in the comfort of home, providing support for patients, families, and caregivers in their time of need.
