The Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures to produce images for interpretation by licensed practitioners. They are responsible for maintaining high accuracy in positioning, radiation safety, and patient care.
Candidates must hold a post-high school diploma program certificate and possess BLS and RT (R) ARRT certifications. Proficiency in human anatomy, medical terminology, and radiation safety protocols is required.
MInimum 48 hours in a 6 week schedule; no on call, holiday or weekend rotation The Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures , producing images for the interpretation by, or at the Request of a licensed independent practitioner. Radiographers must demonstrates an understanding of the human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology. must maintain a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique. They must maintain knowledge of radiation protection and safety. prepare, administer and document activities related to contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations or institutional policy. remain sensitive to the physical , cultural and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring and patient care skills
Education Requirements Post High School Diploma Program Experience Relevant Experience Certification and Licensure BLS Certification RT (R) ARRT or Certification eligible technologists hired upon graduation pass examination prior to start date
