The Staff RN in Surgery is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients across the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. This includes patient assessment, maintaining a sterile and safe environment, patient teaching, and coordinating care across different disciplines.

Provides for the surgical patient’s needs, by assessing, planning and implementing nursing care patient receives preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively. Nursing activities performed by the perioperative nurse include patient assessment, creating and maintaining a sterile and safe environment, preoperative and postoperative teaching, monitoring physiologic and psychological status, integration and coordination of care across settings and among disciplines, patient advocacy, and efficient provision of resources. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing preferred. BSN preferred. Minimum of two years of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Must possess a current California RN license and BLS certification required. ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire or status change. CNOR preferred.
