Cedar Park - Cedar Park, TX 78613We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Addictionologist to join our growing behavioral health and addiction treatment team. In this role, you will provide evidence-based care to individuals struggling with substance use disorders while working alongside a multidisciplinary team dedicated to recovery, wellness, and long-term patient success. The Addictionologist will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. The ideal candidate is passionate about addiction medicine, experienced in medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and committed to delivering patient-centered, trauma-informed care. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and substance use assessments to diagnose substance use and co-occurring disorders. Develop, implement, and oversee individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s recovery goals and clinical needs. Prescribe and manage medications, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT), in accordance with evidence-based practices and regulatory guidelines. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate. Provide education and support to patients and families regarding addiction, relapse prevention, recovery resources, and treatment options. Collaborate closely with therapists, counselors, nursing staff, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and case reviews. Facilitate or support group therapy and psychoeducational sessions as needed. Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant medical documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, accreditation, and organizational standards, including confidentiality and patient rights requirements. Stay current with advancements in addiction medicine, behavioral health treatment, and evidence-based clinical practices. Support community outreach, education, and awareness initiatives related to addiction and recovery services. Advocate for patients and promote a culture of dignity, respect, and recovery-focused care. QualificationsQualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution. Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Addiction Medicine, Addiction Psychiatry, or related specialty preferred. Current, unrestricted medical license in the applicable state. DEA registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances; DATA waiver/X-waiver experience preferred where applicable. Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in addiction medicine, psychiatry, behavioral health, or a related field preferred. Experience treating substance use disorders utilizing evidence-based approaches, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Strong understanding of co-occurring mental health conditions and integrated treatment models. Excellent clinical judgment, diagnostic, and patient assessment skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and clinical documentation standards. Commitment to ethical practice, patient advocacy, and high-quality compassionate care.
