We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. *Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. As an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician, you will: Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values Anesthesia capable for critical patients Ability to troubleshoot Place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein. Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort. Understand normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal. Set up intravenous fluids Administer subcutaneous fluids Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors. Comfortable with medical math Ability to take patient through entire procedure from start to finish (pre-op, monitoring, post-op, and recovery) Comfortable with intubation, prepping patients for surgery Disconnect and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically.
