JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the Registered Nurse (RN) ensures the general well-being of residents by providing nursing care and services for residents in a manner and environment that provides dignity and full recognition of each resident’s individuality. The RN serves as the charge nurse in the absence of the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing. The RN respectfully interacts with all residents, family members, visitors, colleagues and staff. This is a safety sensitive position. Serves as the charge nurse in the absence of the DON Assures resident safety Provides total nursing care for skilled nursing facility residents Observes and reports symptoms and conditions of residents Maintains timely and accurate records on residents’ condition, medication and treatment Develops resident care plan Assists in maintaining a physical, social and psychological environment that is conducive to the best interest and welfare of the patients Assists physicians as needed and requested Requisitions supplies and services Assists in the training and supervision of nursing service personnel Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job ESSENTIAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS The essential mental and physical functions listed below are required in order for an employee to be able to perform the essential functions of this position. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is conducted primarily in health care facility. There is possible exposure to communicable diseases and blood and body fluids that may contain HIV and/or HBV. It is not a requirement to be Lutheran to work at Village On The Isle.QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university Licensed Florida RN; required to maintain licensure Current CPR certification required Two or more years of related experience and/or training in geriatrics in long term care, home health or other health care setting Excellent verbal and written communication skills Computer literacy which includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft Office suite
