Position Summary

The Medication Technician is responsible for safely administering medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse, while ensuring compliance with Ohio state regulations and facility policies. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the health, comfort, and well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with physician orders and Ohio Department of Health guidelines
  • Accurately document medication administration and report any changes in resident condition
  • Monitor residents for adverse reactions and notify nursing staff as needed
  • Assist with medication pass, treatments, and basic resident care
  • Maintain proper storage, labeling, and security of medications
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and facility regulations
  • Provide compassionate, resident-centered care at all times
  • Support nursing staff with daily tasks and workflow efficiency

Qualifications

  • Current Medication Aide/Technician certification recognized in the state of Ohio
  • Active STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant) certification preferred
  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
