About the role

The Recovery Counselor will provide treatment services to consumers, maintain clinical records, and conduct screenings and assessments. They will also engage with consumers, make referrals, and participate in team planning.

Mark Twain Behavioral Health (MTBH) is a private not-for-profit Certified Community Behavioral Health Organization serving Northeast Missouri since 1975 with a wide variety of outpatient services. Mark Twain Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time RECOVERY COUNSELOR for our HANNIBAL MISSOURI - COMMUNICATIONS DRIVE location.

This is an in-office position.

Responsibilities

Provide treatment services to Consumers and maintain clincial record according to standards Conduct Consumer screening, intake and orientation Complete comprehensive substance use assessment and clinical reviews Maintain assigned caseload with a schedule for sessions and engage with consumers at frequency indicated by their current level of care Make referrals to appropriate agencies to meet Consumer and/or family needs Participate in interdisciplinary team planning to discuss pertinent clinical and management issues Provide individual treatment, group treatment, aftercare services, and other services as assigned by the Clinical Director or Program Director When asked and trained, provide clinical supervision for MAACD I/II applicants

Adherence to the MTBH Ethical Code of Conduct and all policies is required.

Qualifications

Recognized as a Qualified Substance Use Professional or Recognized Substance Use Professional by the Missouri Credentialing Board Two (2) years of responsible professional experience in the treatment of alcohol and drug abuse Maintain qualified status
