The Large Animal Surgeon will manage a balance of equine surgical cases, lameness evaluations, and ambulatory duties while actively working to grow the caseload and strengthen relationships with referring veterinarians. Responsibilities include performing common surgeries such as umbilical hernia, colic, and molar extractions, alongside providing routine care for a diverse equine and occasional small ruminant population.
Candidates must be board-certified large animal surgeons or have completed residency training, demonstrating proficiency in a variety of large animal surgical procedures and field work. The ideal applicant should be eager to develop the service, collaborate with a large multidisciplinary team, and provide comprehensive care to committed clients.
