Day - 10 Hour (United States of America) This is a Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley job.

A Brief Overview The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) is a highly skilled individual with a keen and accurate attention to detail.

This position is responsible for working with surgeons in the operating by controlling bleeding, suturing incisions and wounds and intervening if complications arise.

Locations Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley What you will do Assist surgeon in general and specialized surgeries Prepare patients for surgery Provide patient care and support Administer medications Practice surgical procedures such as controlling bleeding and suturing incisions, draping, providing exposure and handling tissue.

Prepare all necessary supplies Position and prepare the patient on the operating table Monitor the patient’s vital signs and heart rate Study patient history and health assessments Perform CPR or other emergency measures if required The RNFA may only perform as first assistant during the procedure and may not act concurrently as scrub nurse Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital.

Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Required Other Graduate of a RNFA program accredited by the Certification Board for Perioperative Nursing Required Experience Qualifications 3+ years to 5 years experience as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) Required Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

LEVEL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to support multiple service lines with a minimum of 2 (i.e. ortho, vascular) Trains other RNFAs Coordinate cases which require RNFA taking additional CEUs LEVEL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Current professional liability insurance required Preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Understanding of standard practices and procedures Medical expertise in handling and cutting tissue, suturing, providing hemostasis, and using medical devices Can perform scrub and circulating nurse roles Excellent understanding of multiple surgical procedures Knowledge of aseptic and sterile technique Strong interpersonal communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment are a must Licenses and Certifications CA-RN (Registered Nurse) required . Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required . ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required . CNOR - Certified Operating Room Nurse required . Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $75.21 - $100.96 per hour The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
