The Occupational Therapist plans and implements programs to restore function and assesses patient abilities regarding strength, coordination, and daily living activities. They also supervise support staff, manage discharge planning, and provide training for students.
Candidates must hold a current license from the State of Alabama Board of Occupational Therapy. Additionally, American Heart Association BLS certification is required upon hire or within 30 days.
The Occupational Therapist plans an occupational therapy (OT) program to meet specific goals for restoration of function. Assesses maximum abilities for adjustment to limitations in cases of strength, coordination, range of motion, levels of independence in activities of daily living, emotional stability, and behavioral changes. Supervises assigned supportive personnel; participates in patient discharge planning; documents pertinent information; communicates verbally with staff, patients, and families; participates in educational activities; supports departmental operations; and performs special responsibilities/projects. Provides student training.
Must be currently licensed by the State of Alabama Board of Occupational Therapy as an Occupational Therapist. Must possess American Heart Association BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
