The role is responsible for administering medically prescribed physical therapy services to residents to restore and maintain function. This includes implementing individualized treatment plans and monitoring resident progress under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant Department: Therapy Services Reports To: Rehab Director FLSA Status: Non-Exempt SUMMARY Responsible for the treatment of residents as directed by the Physical Therapist to restore, maintain, and prevent decline of resident function by planning and administering medically prescribed Physical Therapy services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Assists physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for residents.
Leads therapeutic activities and exercises under the direction of the physical therapists.
Documents and monitors resident progress, reporting any changes to the supervising physical therapist.
Demonstrates competency in the operation and navigation of the EMR software.
Educates residents and their families on treatment plans and any therapeutic equipment.
Serves as information and education resource for residents, families, physicians, and staff.
Demonstrates current competency applicable to the therapeutic role.
Ensures a safe and clean treatment area for residents.
