About the role

The nurse provides general nursing oversight and support in Cardiology and General Surgery clinics, including triage and care coordination. Key tasks include performing EKGs, BP checks, and managing patient rooming to support the overall plan of care.

Overview Copley Hospital, located in Morrisville/Stowe VT, is in search of a Clinic RN - Patient Intake & Care Coordination to join our team in the Multi-Specialty Clinic.

As a licensed member of the care team in the Multi-Specialty Clinic at Copley, the nurse will work primarily in the Cardiology and General Surgery clinics to support the patients' plan of care.

The Nurse will provide general nursing oversight to provide support during clinic visits, nurse triage, and referral and care coordination.

The Nurse will work with existing Cardiology and General Surgery clinical staff on an as required basis which may include phone triage, patient rooming, BP checks, EKGs, colonoscopy intake and referral review, along with supporting other clinic quality measures and initiatives.

This is a Full-Time position (PT available) with working hours from 7:30am-4:00pm four days per week.

Fridays are required, but the working days Monday-Thursday are flexible based on the candidate's schedule in collaboration with the clinic's need.

No weekend and no holidays!

Copley Hospital has a variety of shifts available across Full-Time, Part-Time, and Per Diem needs.

Compensation

$32.09-54.81/hour. The posted salary range reflects base compensation for candidates with a variety of experience. An offer within this range may be presented based on experience.

Responsibilities

Work with existing multi-specialty clinical staff as needed on phone triage, patient rooming, BP checks, EKG’s, and support to other multi-specialty office nursing activities, as patient needs arise. Manages self and resources effectively. Organizes multitask workload, accepts changes in assignment, utilizes supplies appropriately, requests assistance appropriately. Applies critical thinking knowledge, integration skills and considers alternatives in a multitask workload. Collects integrates data from multiple sources, seeks assistance information appropriately. Communicates with patients, team members, and management in an accurate, timely manner. Reports pertinent data, completes forms and charting, protects confidentiality, attends staff meetings or retrieves information from same, reads communications. Develops and maintains human care relationships & integrates the influence of the human experience of health, illness &/or healing. Adapts care for diverse populations, assists colleagues with care delivery, refers all concerns/issues to appropriate resource. Incorporates teaching in delivery of care and demonstrates competence in health promotion & disease prevention. Provides information to patient family appropriately, assesses for barriers to learning, uses colleagues as a learning resource. Education, attendance, punctuality, meetings: Participates in continuing education programs & mandatory education to maintain competence and gain additional skills & documents attendance. Completes annual review and or training i.e. Elsevier topics, mandatory education, BLS renewal, etc. Attendance & punctuality expectations met. Attends unit staff meetings or retrieves info from the same. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Required: Associate Degree in Nursing (or certification equivalent) Active RN license in the state of VT Experience Required: Minimum of one year nursing experience Experience Desired: Experience in outpatient/clinic setting, preferred License and Certification Required: Current Vermont licensure and BLS. Skills Required: Basic knowledge of cardiac rhythm, basic EKG interpretation Cardiopulmonary clinical assessment skills General surgery assessment skills Basic knowledge of cardiac medications, tests, and treatments

Requirements

Requires an Associate Degree in Nursing, an active Vermont RN license, and BLS certification. A minimum of one year of nursing experience is required, with outpatient or clinic experience preferred.
