The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in the accurate dispensing, labeling, and delivery of oral and I.V. medications. They are also responsible for maintaining drug use records and providing age-appropriate patient care.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old with a High School diploma/GED and hold a Pharmacy Technician license from IDFPR and a CPhT or ExCPT certification. Preferred qualifications include one year of pharmacy experience and IV/cleanroom expertise.
This position will oversee pharmacy technician support at OSF Home Infusion Pharmacy in Peoria, IL.
The Certified Pharmacy Technician I assists pharmacists in ensuring medications are promptly, accurately and safely dispensed, delivered, charged and credited. Prepares and labels medications to match orders. Maintains records related to drug use and charges. This position requires the Technician to be proficient in both dispensing oral medications and in preparation of I.V. solutions. Duties may vary by assigned area or shift. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served, including neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric. Work involves standing, lifting and walking continually while in the process of performing duties interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience: 1 year pharmacy. IV/Cleanroom experience. Demonstrates knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology. Other requirements/information: Demonstrates ability to perform and apply arithmetic calculations Intermediate computer skills. OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
