Salary
$19 - $23 / HOUR
Supports nursing staff and providers by preparing patients for visits and assisting with clinical procedures. Manages routine clinic activities including vital signs documentation, phlebotomy, and medical supply maintenance.
Requires graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and current certification along with a high school diploma or GED. Minimum of one year of healthcare experience is preferred, and phlebotomy certification is a plus.
Escort patients to available exam rooms and prepare them for visits Obtain and document patient chief complaints and vital signs Maintain accurate and confidential medical records Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and procedures as directed Perform waived laboratory testing and assist with procedures per provider direction Perform phlebotomy duties as required by clinic site or operational needs Provide verbal and written translation assistance as needed Stock, prepare, and maintain exam rooms for patient care Assist with ordering and maintaining medical supplies Discharge patients and provide visit instructions as directed by the provider Schedule appointments and prepare reminder cards Ensure clinic areas are clean, safe, and orderly Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities Clean, package, autoclave instruments, and complete required documentation Comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements QualificationsEducation, Licensure, and Certification Requirements Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program Current Medical Assistant certification High school diploma or GED Phlebotomy certification preferred, but not required Minimum one year of experience, preferably in a healthcare setting Bilingual skills preferred, but not required Ability to work with individuals from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds Skills and Competencies High ethical standards and professionalism Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and patient service skills Ability to respond professionally to sensitive inquiries or complaints Commitment to patient advocacy and quality healthcare Ability to manage multiple priorities Proficient with computers, copiers, fax machines, and 10-key systems
