Perform comprehensive physical examinations and manage common complications for breast medical oncology patients from diagnosis through survivorship. Collaborate with the care team to provide clinical management, patient education, and detailed documentation in electronic medical records.
Requires a Master's in advanced clinical practice or graduation from an accredited NP or PA program with valid licensure in Virginia. Must hold BLS certification and be able to successfully complete payer and medical staff credentialing.
Inova Schar Cancer Institute is looking for a dedicated Breast Medical Oncology Specialty Advanced Practice Provider (APP), Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant to join the team at our Fair Oaks office. This role will be full-time day shift from Full-time: Monday – Friday with quarterly weekend call (phone only, no rounding). Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

The Breast Medical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP), under general supervision and in accordance with established APP protocols, performs comprehensive physical examinations and manages common complications in medical oncology patients. This role involves counseling and educating patients and their families, monitoring progress from diagnosis through long-term follow-up, and providing close management for those undergoing active treatment. The APP is responsible for the ongoing clinical management of patients during their visits, working collaboratively with referring providers and the broader care team to ensure an optimal patient experience and the best possible outcomes.
