About the role

The RN provides pre- and post-anesthesia care, as well as limited intraoperative and endoscopy care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The role focuses on delivering safe, high-quality nursing care while supporting departmental efficiency and team goals.

About the Position

Under the supervision of the Manager of Surgical Services, the Pre OP/PACU RN provides pre-anesthesia, post-anesthesia (Phase I and II), limited intraoperative, and endoscopy care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. This role involves delivering safe, high-quality, and cost-effective nursing care using the nursing process while supporting overall efficiency and team goals. The RN also contributes to team leadership and the achievement of departmental and organizational objectives.

What we are looking for: Education and Experience

Minimum

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required, or eligibility to obtain certification within three months of hire.

Minimum of one year of experience in critical care or post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) nursing preferred.

Proficiency in computer and electronic medical record (EMR) systems required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required, or eligibility to obtain certification within three months of hire.

Riverwood Healthcare Center is a 25-bed Critical Access hospital with three full-service clinics in Aitkin, McGregor, and Garrison. Riverwood has recently expanded its footprint in Aitkin with a state-of-the-art surgical center.

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current Minnesota RN license and BLS certification. ACLS certification is required or must be obtained within three months of hire, with critical care or PACU experience preferred.
